The National Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer of AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria, Hon. Jabiru Salisu Abdullahi, has expressed full alignment with the African Union Commission’s reaffirmation of Nigeria’s sovereignty, religious freedom, and adherence to the rule of law.
Reacting to the AUC’s statement from Addis Ababa, Hon. Abdullahi described the Commission’s position as timely and reflective of Africa’s collective commitment to non-interference, peace, and constitutional order. He noted that Nigeria continues to play a central role in advancing regional stability, counter-terrorism, and continental integration.
“The African Union’s position underscores the need for dialogue and cooperation over threats and external pressure,” he said. “Sustainable peace can only thrive when nations’ sovereignty and institutions are respected.”
He reiterated AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria’s readiness to support the AU Commission in promoting governance reforms, human rights, and peacebuilding initiatives across the continent in line with Agenda 2063.
